The Driving Standards Agency (DSA)
The agency responsible for running the
Theory and Practical driving tests. Its primary aim is to promote road
safety through the advancement of driving standards.
Pass Plus
A short course of further driver
training which improves your driving awareness and may allow you to obtain reductions on your car insurance.
This involves a minimum 6 hours tuition with an instructor and includes
motorway driving. No test is required.
Department of the Environment, Transport
and the Regions
The Department of Transport has
responsibility throughout Great Britain (but not N. Ireland) for policy on
airports, railways, major ports, road traffic law and the Highway Code and
in England for national roads, road safety, urban transport and traffic.
Driver and Vehicle
Licensing Agency (DVLA)
The agency which deals with
vehicle licences (tax discs), driving licences and vehicle registrations. The current licence
